I am used to a 6-1 , when I ride a 5-7 it feels like nothing is there . Also most fishy boards have mellow bottoms and rocker , not the case with a DT. Then you have his super domed deck , my boards are much flatter top side .

I really like the free floating ride and how fast they are , got myself in some fun places without the center fin acting as a pivot/brake .

Want to try the Nano .
Mine is in, 5'9x 19x 2.5

Ride report & pics on the way. Let's meet up next time we get some clean swell.
does not need to be perfect , i am more curious to feel it in " average " conditions .

I'm keen to know/see the rocker and bottom profile on these things. Is the rocker flat through the tail like a mini sim? And, also like a mini sim, is there belly to flat to single concave through the fins?
Reason I ask is that I recently shaped my first board - a mini simm. I stuck to the Hydrodynamica recipe of short, very wide (23"!!) and flat with belly to flat to concave between two double foiled keels. The thing is an absolute blast and has replaced my mini mal for crap days. I'm thinking my next project will be a similar recipe, but more HP - like the MPHs. But we'll see I predict I may get round to it in about 1 year at earliest!

a little bit of belly entry to single out the tail.

I'll repost my question from another thread...

Those who have Tomos... are they replacing your normal boards?

yes
I enjoy the Tomo the most and the board works well in most conditions.
except: small curvy punchy waves and today which was choppy, a lot of push +overhead w/ a mixed up swell(I should have rode my 6'5 Bonzer)

A raptor hydrofoil and the vector would be a pretty all conquering quiver for me definitely although everyone's tastes are different obviously, it's exciting for me to be ahead of the curve with something that renders hspb's obsolete for me, when will the rest catch up? Hahaha.

my question is the following:
is it hard to transition from your normal hpsb's and mini hpsb's especially the thruster variety to and from the tomo's?

I love the feel of a thruster because of the amount of control they have. At the same time, I love the feel of the quads and twins especially in those minimalistic templates for the out of control speed they have.

My opinion is that it takes a bit to get used to riding a Tomo. Your first time, you see flashes of brilliance, but your aren't floored. The more you ride it, the more often you feel those flashes of brilliance, until you never want to ride anything else. The big thing that most forget is to really get that back foot way back over the fins.
The further your foot is back, the better they go. They aren't boards that are ridden from the middle. I think you can learn to transition back and forth from any board to another. You just have to be willing to put in the time and realize that the first few times, or maybe more, are gonna be a little frustrating. I used to think that riding longboards hurt my shortboarding. In truth, I just didn't know how to transition. I put in the time, and now I can ride my log and go to the beach and trade it out for my shortboard, without a hiccup.
