I like light boards and I think the Infused Glass with the vacuum-bagging keeps them pretty light. My first Varial with the Infused Glass, a CI NB2 is three years old and doesn't have any dings/shatters, so I'm sticking with it.

it;s funny I was thinking shadow for my latest but based on my input tim steered me towards the flare. no ragrats obviously but the shadow still looks rad
Looks fun. I think Tim was pretty high on this design as a personal board.

First time I've noticed the Warhawk too. Looks good I might have to get a round tail for winter.

I'll post a pic. It's really not a roundtail. I asked Tim for thumbtail but said please don't make it look weird like some thumbtails. Tim said he would try to combine the best of a squash and thumb. It's pretty neutral and smooth.

Based on the stock dims, it also looks like a shape that would translate well for someone your height, @Aruka.
update on my flare. This boar is an absolute gem. Still planes when I need it too but the v and increased rail rocker in the tail just lights it up. He knocked this one out of the park... and he already set the bar high.
Flare with a touch more vee and tail rocker sounds like the money combination. Stocked!

Shoot, forgot to ask about XTR when I met with Tim today, but, got to dial-in my 5’7” x 20” x 2.375” Varial Kai-zen with wings!
Unfortunately it didn’t work out. So we went with his eps epoxy build and it came out insane. No remorse
