I’ve got a 9’3 Parallax (CJ Nelson) and an 8’0 Moe ,both in Thunderbolt Red construction.
They are lighter than comparable PU/PE boards and have a nice feel in the water- not stiff or pingy like some EPS boards. Pretty damn durable so far , 9’3 was 1150 so not appreciably more than polyester boards. Thunderbolt black uses carbon which brings the cost up
I’ve been real happy with both boards

I also have a 9'3 Parallax. I cannot say enough good things about this board. I'm waiting to see if CJ comes out with a new mid-length. If not then a Moe is next on my list. I will still always have my traditional build Bonzers but, I'm really liking the Thunderbolt tech.

I bought a used Moe 7'2" a couple of years ago and sold it after a few surfs. Didn't paddle or catch waves well but did turn well once on the wave. I've owned a shed load of mid lengths over the years.

I rode a 7'2" Moe and a 9'1" HIHP on my last trip to Taiwan and I hate to say it but they were pretty nice. I'm 198cm 100kg (6'5" 210# in freedom units) intermediate surfer, and surf 2-3 times a week.

The Moe paddled similar to a PU IMO and rails felt forgiving and easy enough to turn. It felt a little on the stiff side but I'm prob being a little critical since I usually ride longboards.

The HIHP was the sleeper though. I didn't like it at first when I held it because it was too light and didn't feel like it would perform well. On the first wave, it got in easy enough, but once on my feet felt good. It had good spring coming off the bottom when pumping down the line and could turn pretty much how ever you wanted it to. I didn't like it for nose riding but I'm not a master and this board is obviously not made to do that. While it kinda feels like a toy, it is a fun board. The flex, energy, and speed through turns is pretty addictive. I hate that they are not locally made in Japan anymore but the construction is really strong and should last a long time. I saw a guy lose his board into the rocks with very little damage.

Overall, I wish the HIHP was a little heavier so it would ride more solidly but I am in the market for one so I think that says enough.
