Right on mayor1. Glad you're safe. Sad to hear of those who lost their homes. Sounds really heavy but also like the community is pulling together.

As far as pepperdine, I can't believe they kept the kids there. Didn't the fire burn ALL around the school? What if they couldn't defend it and hundreds of kids died?

i saw a pic think on IG of the HRL Labs building, just east of Pepperdine. it was ok but the area around it was completely burnt. it's insane to shelter in place up there.

Came into the shop this AM and i have a number of "surfboard emergencies."

Fire victims who lost their houses and all their boards. One guy lost a shed with 15 Bonzers in it.
Probably a lot of quivers lost.

If anybody lost their boards or knows someone who did and they don't have the insurance $$$ for a surfboard emergency order I've got some I'd gladly donate. PM me.

I saw video of Alex Gray and Robbie Reistrell, among others, using boats and jet skis to deliver supplies to the burn area where all the roads are closed. Much respecnt.
Not to be a stinker, but c'mon. The people were burned out for ONE day and they are delivering stuff? What? First, if you stayed behind and your house didn't burn, you have all you need except electricity and water. If you liver in that area you should have emergency supplies anyway. I have been through many fires in my time and had emergency supplies at the ready at all times. Second, if you stayed behind at your house burned, the fire department or police department would get you out of there. You wouldn't stay behind afterwards as there is nothing there for you anyway. Third, why did these guys have a camera crew with them? Seems suspect!

!. They didn't have a camera crew with them, They were spotted by a TV news crew.

2. I reckon there might be people there who need stuff. It was longer than ONE day.

3. Maybe you're right and the world just sucks.

Following the instagram stories of the Pt Dume kids shows what they've been up to. People have been delivering supplies prior to that Stab story with Alex Grey. The main thing they were asking for is Gas and Walkie Talkies. They're trying to put out all the flare ups around Pt Dume so no more houses burn. One guy sitting up on top of Pt Dume and telling people where to go. (and they're the crew with guns in that photo I posted earlier)

One of them. https://www.instagram.com/andrewjacobson/ Another. https://www.instagram.com/rileysmoller/

Then there's a guy who lives on Cavalleri and has been on CNN and all the news outlets who is up there and posting stuff. All the supplies are being taken to Malibu Elementary school and given out in an orderly fashion. They had a bigger produce section than Pavillions it looked like. They were giving out 2 gallons of gas at a time.

The bigger questions is where did Clout disappear to?! :)

The Point Dume battalion of bros saved many a house when the fire department was virtually non existent Friday night and all that remained was a few of us residents and these local kids.
They are mostly the younger kids who grew up here, some 3 generations strong and are a fixture at nearby reefs and points.
These guys mobilized like a seal team for no other reason than their love for the land and helping their neighbors. I was there and I saw it all during the course of the last 6 days. Stories will be told for decades about what they did. Legend is too small a word. Maybe sainthood. Point Dume Bomberos! Point Dume Bomberos go fund me

guy in our IT department lived in the apartments just east of Kanan. He lost everything. literally everything and escaped just with the clothes on his back.

don't know how there could be outside looters coming into Malibu with all road access in closed
without the PCH open it's taking people in my department over 2hrs to get to work thru the valley.

Out of curiosity Mayor, looking at the intensity of the fires we've seen in this footage how is it that a bunch of kids were holding the line and defending houses? Seems to me like garden hoses, shovels and fire extinguishers would be futile against the force of these fires.

HAHAHA Sheriff quote is in direct opposition to what the Point Dume Bomberos are saying. Stab article, they're claiming there are looters on little dirt bikes driving around.

EDIT: The instagram stories I saw are of them putting out hot spot flare ups before they could flare up to get to buildings. They're not up on roof's with garden hoses or anything. They're in backyards or on hillsides with shovels and bucket's of water. The same type of stuff hotshot crews do.

I hate that people are attention whoring with the fire on instagram.

One dude is crying saying how hard it is to save his house.

Put down your phone and get busy.

If you can film it's not that bad.

It's all melodrama.

If you lost your house, I get it, that sucks.

yeah saw one video of them driving around the hills. stopping at a house and the door mat was on fire. with the wind that door mat could have easily set the rest of the house on fire. they had shovels and put it quickly

Don't worry everyone, Clout's OK. I think this whole fire thing may just be a ruse by the grumpy locals to get some waves with no one out.

Joking aside. In his next post he says gas and water are back on. It's getting back to normal.

Malibu is the worst of California. Weirdo hollywood and music types mixed in with hippies and rich 3rd-generation rednecks who live in trailers, bitch about traffic and people from the valley but then whine when nobody helps them in an emergency.

I'm glad it burns every 5-7 years.
