My name is Al, Al Soldano. I live in Thousand Oaks, CA, and I am a decent surfer. I can do "off-the-lips" Tommy Curren style, and "full-gauge" "roundhouse-cutbacks" into the foam. I can always see people in the lineup turn around and watch me from behind the wave when I catch a wave. I am 29, and am planning to get sponsored and become a professional surfer, and am considering working towards world champion. I can do "new-school" tricks, but my style and assault is a derivitive of the "old-school." I am the "new milineum" surfer, and I have a great shot at this.

Al, you may be hot, but you're already 29. In one year you'll "over-the-hill" in the shortboard pro-surfing scene. I don't want to burst your bubble, but don't quit your day job. If you want to compete for the fun and competition of it, cool. But don't get your hopes up too much when it comes to making a living off of it. You needed to be thinking about this 10 years ago if you wanted to succeed financially as a professional. Good luck, either way.

Al, Al, Al, well your probably to old to make a run for the title unless you shred!!Al I'm 32 and I use to be sponsored, when I was in I'm Early 20's but I surfed on the Amatuer circuit(Bud Tour). When you turn Pro it's a differant ballgame. First you need to shred!! Back in the day surfing in a ESA event surfing in like boys or jr. mens I remember looking out at second light (you know where i'm at) and looking at Kelly Slater when he was surfing menehunes which he was probably 8 or so , But i remember saying to my freinds(scott todd, todd holland, sean slater, rich murray, justin carver) that guy shreds!!!!!! And he was only 8. I remember sharing 1st peak at sebastion with him, I was older but the kid ripped young. To make a long story short there is Know way you can make it in the pro tour at your age unless you shred !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
