Is OB a spot you really surf with other people? I feel like as soon as you get one, especially if you belt the ender that dumps on the inner, you're gone and they're gone. Shuffled like casino cards.
a friend of mine from back in college texted me and showed up for two days of one of the bigger swells last year. He's a cool guy and very good surfer -- I fully intended to surf with him, but it ended up being that we chatted in the parking lot and then only paddled past each other once during each 4ish hour session. With any size I feel like it's just impossible.

Sink your tip into this:
Was this 2015?

Dude's voice is classic surf dawg.
The burn at 3:20 was radical

This goofy was getting after it. Reminded me of when Damo showed up undergunned on the MLK swell that broke Parson's back.

Seems like lots of mortals on really big boards so they can avoid positioning like this. Which I completely understand.

For a moment I thought this was Pat Shaugnessy, but on second thought, I don't think so. He was living here around that time, but maybe a year later.

Headed to SF tomorrow for Thanksgiving with the family. Staying in The City with bro in law and planning on hitting OB Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Friday looking like 8-10 foot. No thanks!

Looks rideable but not great until Friday. Should be some windows worth it to get wet.
The swell forecast for Surfline has been pushed back and downgraded from earlier this week.
Winds are favorable and there should still be plenty to get your heart pumping Friday evening.
I have family in town, feeding everyone on Friday instead of Thursday, and I need to get new tires on my car. Undoubtedly, these will coalesce on the best moments of sell, wind, and tide over a 5 day period...

I'm liking the Wed-Thursday forecast. 3@13-15 WNW with some south to peak it up. Should be punchy and rippable if you find the right sandbars.

Friday shaping up as a legit "know your limits" day

The goofy with the Fox logos I'd guess is Damien Hobg000d.

Headed up to see the in-laws in the far East Bay, so I'm probably getting in the water twice – three times max.

What's y'all's guess on size Friday? From my limited experience, Surfline calling it 10-15 means anything from inconsistent DOH sets to nonstop butthole pucker.

If the height and period numbers hold, it will be 12-18 foot faces easy in the middle of the beach. You can get it several feet smaller at VFWs.

Exactly what I’m thinking. I have no interest in macking OB. I plan on watching the US - England game on Friday and drinking multiple pints.
