I recently bought such a specimen for $150 with the intention of flipping it for $300. It had some rail damage, so I bought spray cans and 1kg of epoxy filler. The epoxy was $34 and I bought 5 cans for $30 (special offer). Then I removed the wax and repaired and painted it. The colors didn't really match though. After repairs and spray I washed it with white spirit, scrubbing soap, then normal soap and clear it off with water. I sold it for $250 when it was done.

Here it is. The logo is very in tune with the times we live in. Israeli board brand maybe :monkey: :roflmao:

Ripping! Is Harley ripping on his Mid6 twin? I suppose he is. Does it look pleasing to the eye?
Not really...think he's trying too hard with his body compression in bottom turns and working it down the line.
Too bad they are pumping these boards out of China and charging an eye watering amount of pesos for them.
Anyways something to have a look at.

Looks good to me. Harley Ingleby is always ripping.
Surfed an 8’0 quad fin chilli midstrength today in waist high, ok quality beach waves. Very fun midlength! I own one at 6’6 that doesn’t work very well, but at a larger size it’s a lot of fun. Too big, comes out of the water at a certain speed, but a blast to mess around on

Not a big fan of his surfing. He looks better in those parts of it where he relaxes and lets the board do some of the work. Clearly he rips but seems like he should be on a shortboard. Reminds me of the "performance longboarders" of the early 90s.

Board looks interesting. I've ridden some of the bigger tri/quad Mid 6s and liked but they were always a little big (I think I rode a 7''6 and maybe the 7'10 in Hawaii). 6'10 twin seems about right for these for me at least. They also have a mini tri/quad one that goes down intp the actual mid 6' lengths. As I recall they have a fair bit of rocker and want more of a punchy wave.

Seems like it's a bit hard to find these Thunderbolt boards now. I think something happened with their distribution for better or worse. Maybe Firewire used to distribute them and the deal blew up?

For those who want to gripe about these sort of boards, I ride two custom poly boards that were shaped for me. But my friend who has a mid 6 accidentally backed over it in the Cardiff campground parking lot with his Tundra with a camper back on it and you can't even tell. Not a mark on the board. Say what you will but that Thunderbolt construction is no joke and it doesn't feel weird to ride like some Firewires and Surftechs.

picked up the 6'4" mid mini thing a couple weeks ago, its been an absolute hoot to surf, goes really well backside, still working it out frontside, hates slacker or weak waves with a passion.

Taken from another thread but thought it belonged here. Good interview with Devon Howard (never knew he works for CI) about the differences between riding Mids vs. Shortboards, etc.

Agree on the Thunderbolt. I snagged one of the outliers when they were like $700 and the Thunderbolt feels great. Not too light, pleasing to the touch, just the right amount of flex. I almost like it as much as my Varial boars.

They look fun. Kinda thought they were good tough potential travel boards but met a guy on a recent surf trip who had one and said it dinged easier than he thought and seemed to suck in water fast when they happened..
Weird considering your friends situation.
You guys with these getting little dings and water sucking in ala surftech?
