Good News:
Swimmers and surfers returned to North County beaches Monday
Beaches in Carlsbad, Solana Beach and Del Mar reopened Monday for limited activities including surfing, swimming and exercise.

“Everything has gone well so far,” said Jon Edelbrock, Del Mar’s community services director and chief lifeguard early Monday afternoon. “It’s crowded, but everyone is very spaced out, moving and doing well.”

The three cities along with the state parks department were the last of the coastal communities to re-open after the San Diego County health officer lifted a restriction on surfing, swimming and paddle sports in the ocean to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
