If minorities are incapable of producing successful wokish films then how do you explain the success of this years Nope, and other Peele productions? Conversely, how do explain the failure of films like this years The Northman, which isn’t woke and promotes conservative values. :ROFLMAO:

What is interesting to me about the Peele movies is he's doing an updated black version of the Ira Levin 70s horror movie.

Those old movies are great.

Good for him.

I don't care what the themes are. I just want a great story.

There are positive aspects to liberalism and conservatism.

You need both

WB CEO is a fkn idiot.

hbomax bout to get gutted and combined with discovery. 70 percent of the workforce getting culled and its insane because HBOmax is the best streamer service. shame.
When HBO got bought the president of HBO quit.

Smart move.

Otherwise they would have killed him by a 1000 cuts.

perhaps. Im amused that wokeism, which is annoying but doesn't really seem to harm anyone, is living so free of rent in N2Stock's head.
You really are beyond clueless.

But stay woke and fail away. Woke is no longer woke, it is now a coma.

Almost no one other than the clueless want anything to do with it--because it is incredibly divisive and harmful.

Seems like he's responding to what happened to Disney and the latest Toy Story. There's a limited number of blue-hairs willing to watch movies like that.

The hbomax infrastructure is built out and it's extremely costly to add new content and new users. They can continue to cash cow the old content for awhile, but you don't need a lot of people to do it. If they need the other 70% of the work force at some point, they'll get it from India.

I've watched workers from real jobs such as mfg and engineering be laid-off for decades. How much more easily can they lay off workers in the fake "Information Economy?" This is only just beginning.

Being inclusive is, in your opinion, harmful?
Wokeism includes acceptance of trumpists bigots and misogynistic homophobes, you realize that, right

no hes from discovery originally and to his credit - helped vamp it up....but thinks everyone wants reality TV instead of actual good scripted shows. wether the MAX shows are good are up to interpretation, especially when compared to HBO proper content. (its different teams) and as far as Batgirl - its probably a shite movie but people woulda watched and they coulda recouped some of the money. the shittiest part is money like that is a drop in the bucket to these fuckers. 100 million dollar budgets JUST for marketing on a movie like that, yet below the line salaries need to be culled?

and yes - the structure and app are built - but there are tons of people, marketing, and doing a million other job to help make, and promote the shows. there simply going to stop making scripted MAX shows all together.

and Real Jobs huh? hahah GFY with that one.

There are no good scripted shows that go beyond the first season nowadays. They all seem to struggle in their sophomore season, cost money, and people lose interest. Maybe there's a large market for mediocre shows given that the audience is, in general, dumber, but I don't see how to monetize that on a limited customer base paying $15/month. The past revenue model of cable bundled a bunch of channels together that carried advertisements.

The new Max shows fail to be good beyond their freshman season. The old serials like the Sopranos are a thing of the past. It's kind of like movies nowadays - the best years are behind us. Everyone can see it. Many are remarking on it. That reminds me that I need to cancel my HBO Max subscription.

There's top line and there's bottom line. The street demands cuts to keep the bottom line where it is. As you said, they were going to double their losses by spending $100 million on marketing while heading into a recession. This is how every other industry works. Welcome to reality.

Yep. It's very expensive and corporate America is more about getting costs down rather than delivering value to the customer.

Your response indicates you know this to be true. Look around your house and evaluate how your job contributes directly to the infrastructure that keeps you fed, sheltered, watered, the power on and sh1t pumped. Those are the types of jobs that aren't going away. Anything else is - as they've been saying the past two years - nonessential.

How do you break HBO...a leader in content for decades. If you look at the talent The Wire spun off alone...it's incredible.
The new boss told the HBO president he wanted HBO to be like Netflix.

The HBO president said HBO does something different than Netflix.

The boss that bought HBO said not anymore.

Yeah, HBO has a ton of great shows.

No other networks are close.
