Kinda like the saying in fishing.
"10% of fisherman catch 90% of the fish"

At Slopteenth Ave North I'm usually in the 100th percentile of being the only one out. I normally avoid the Poles proper and go down the beach so similar applies. Similar at Boncloseout Park, Cerrado House, or Sebastian Closeout in South Brevard.

At Smyrna and the Pier if you're in the 5% you're sponsored or used to be. I have no air game whatsoever so that's a hard no.

Daily reminder if you surf between Bay Street and County Line or Key West and Jupiter Inlet you have behavioral symptoms worthy of weapons-grade anti-depressants.

Pretty spot dependent.

Good luck being in the top 5% at a good day at Lowers.

On the other hand, 3 weeks of surfing would probably have you in the top 5% at, say, Sunslop or County Valley.

Time of year, too.

seems every summer a new crop of surfers lay their claim as the best surfer at a break, put in their time, only for fall to swing around and the baseline talent level increase a few times over when there is actual swell in the water.
