High tide in morning is killing it. Crumbly outside that backs off and can’t connect inside. Also general lack of swell. Today and tomorrow wind ripped. Feast….now famine….

Every beach has sand moved around up here, and so far its seems for the better. Some really solid bars around the beaches, but some reefs arent breaking as hollow so I wonder if they have sand piled up too. This spring going to be really interesting.

That swell moved our outside sandbars further out, so it's got to be pretty big and long period to properly work. I have fond memories of lined up 4-6 and 6-8 foot days on the outer bar. Right now, that's not possible. Flip side is certain inner bars are working pretty good on mid-high tide.

Three of my local beachies got wiped out. One spot basically went flat, another was only breaking on the other side of the pier, and the other had deep troughs on the inside, no middle bar, and then a crumbly, fickle outer bar with one crowded peak a little farther north.

But it looks like nature is healing because the first, basically flat spot has started to break again even on the higher five-foot tides. Actually surfed there this weekend and this morning and had really fun sessions. :shaka:

All the regulars are F'd. Old childhood spots that have been breaking for decades are now MIA. No middle bars anywhere. Only spots that work are the established reefs that don't rely on heavy sand build up.

Gonna be veeeeryy interesting to see how the spring shakes things out after the annual harbor dredging.

silver strand and ventura rivermouth and ventura harbor all fire perfect waves on all swells, at all tides, in any wind, day or night. everyone should come 6 to a sprinter and take all the pictures they can and post them on all social media. be sure to leave trash. we will pick it up. all of the women are loose and easy, too. take 'em all.

One of my go to spots has an outside bar that has just not turned on with the high tides in the AM. This morning I went and it was completely sht down. I decided to drive to another beach that has noutside bar and it was really fun. Waist high runners all the way to the beach, wave after wave. I had a lot of fun. :waving:
