Can’t help but wonder if the Trumby administration has already given up on curtailing opioid-related deaths since they haven’t done or said anything about it in quite a while.

Meanwhile 5 people die from vapes and Trumby is all over it.

This bipartisan vape attack and manufactured crisis is either coming from some heavy-duty tobacco industry lobbying or some equally heavy duty anti-marijuana lobbyists. Its too hard to know whether vape juice is nicotine, THC, or something else so its being attacked

Opioids have an actual benefit to most people who take them.

Vaping has no benefit at all.

Either way banning vapes or opioids is a bad idea.

or because people are dying randomly

People die.

There is like the assumption that that should't happen.

Who doesn't know you would be better off not using vape pens or opioids to excess?

Water will kill you if you drink enough.

This. Opioids are a god-send for people who really need them. Vaping does squat. Smoke it, eat it, just don't vape it if you don't want popcorn lung.

This is what politicians do. Reminds me of the whole helmets for motorcyclists law. Supposedly that was done because motorcyclists with head injuries are a drag on the medical system. The only problem with that was the number of people that die on motorcycles of head injuries is utterly dwarfed by the number of people that die of head injuries in automobiles. If you really wanted to do something useful you would have passed helmet laws for motorists. But that would **** off too many voters. You need to target a minority voting block and do something you can point at and proudly proclaim the good you have done.

So bye bye vaping. And good riddance. Everybody will be just fine without it.

5 people

That's not even a rounding error, its an aberration
I agree that the number of deaths is small, but the use of vaping
is high and so the population that is potentially exposed is quite
high....not having a clear understanding of the culprit is worrisome.

Vaping has been around for how long now? And it's suddenly a problem, and a bipartisan one at that?

Doesn't pass the smell test

70,000 overdose deaths in 2017.
I suspect that the vast majority of those deaths are due to Chinese/Mexican Fentanyl either being used to cut heroin or to make counterfeit pharmaceutical opiates.
