Teachers seem mature and well adjusted.

Yeah but how many?
10?

I been working out again and I lost 10 pounds.
I'm not back to my old beat up 5 year olds shape, but I think I could do some damage in a tussle.

I think the asocial 5 year old knows how to pick his or her victims.

You haven't been here long enough to learn the BriChi technique of picking one up by the ankles and using them as a tomahawk towards the others.

I bet I could take out at least 60 if I had enough swing room. You just have to remember that your weapon is also still trying to kill you. Well, at first until they go limp and they're just deadweight.

The right wants to defund it
you are correct, mr. wicker

they are absolute fanatics when it comes to defunding public ed

i've even seen them go as far as creating superior educational alternatives where their children are absolutely crushing it academically and they do this JUST TO DRAW FUNDING AWAY FROM THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

tricky bastards

they'll tell you its all about the kids and their education and their future...

don't believe it

they want to defund public education

Now do the left.

Or is just the right you feel the need to protect?

Now do the left.
i'm not really interested in the left v right framing

but i am *very* interested in school choice

nice to see az making some progress there in spite of the teacher's union's attempt to block it

I wasn't creating left vs right dichotomy

I was pointing out how the left and right were both competing corrupting forces on public ed.

When I used the term "defund" I meant taking public ed funds and using them for private for profit schools.

Sorry if my phrasing (which I used as for brevity's sake) confused you.

it did not confuse me in the slightest
taking public ed funds and using them for private for profit schools.
this is a mischaracterization

all of the public education alternatives i have participated in have been non-profit

it would be interesting to see what percentage of school choice funds end up getting spent on for-profit institutions

this is a strawman

The point of the public schools is to employ teachers, consultants, and admins. It matters not that they don't operate at a profit. I don't know of any private school that is "for profit" - they spend all their money on payroll and maintenance.

i don't know

there are some excellent public schools out there and in a school choice world i expect they will continue to be fully funded
