That looks more like a twin plus trailer set. Maybe try a traditional thruster set?
+1

paunch23: try some normal sized front fins instead of the buzz fronts to see if you like it better. also make sure to stand on it as far back as you can.

I often ride mine with AM1 fronts and 3.75" rears with a similar template (QD2?). I've never really clicked with the Buzz fins but always figured it was just me and my skills, or lack there of.

thanks guys,,,def. will give this a try! I don't know much about fins, but it was definitely an improvement going from quad to tri. I know theres room for improvement.

Another session on my new super buzz, took it across the channel from my local this time to the beginner wave. Softer face and longer ride, wanted to feel it out in different conditions. Did some fun carves to fade back up straight into the lip. Had a few tight wraps in the pocket. This board is versatile. I did catch the wide nose on a speed float at high speed and faceplanted and rashguard went over my head. Was going super fast eyeballing the section ahead. That sucked. Last wave was a long backside left, did a quick check turn right into a pump to high line, then pumped again and was flying, then when I finally got to the open face it was past the reef already and no section to hit. Blue balls. Proned in.

Had the SB out in some glassy and very clean waves over the weekend, LOVE IT! I think it only feels stiff in the choppy sideshore waves, but I'm noticing it less and less. This rocker and board are so money.

What's your verdict on the sk8 deck Racer? Would you do it again or back to standard?

The SK8 deck feels nice paddling, but I think it's too rigid when riding in windy waves. It's not a deal breaker for me, as I'm getting used to this one, but I think next one I'll just do deck channels. My local is 20mph sideshore wind for 75% of my sessions. Considering my last SB was buckled three times (not CFT, no deck channels or SK8 deck), I'm stocked that this one will most likely not buckle ever.

Sakana: can! Let me beat this one up a bit...

love this thread!!!

hey how short are you guys going with this board? nose height?

i think length is really relevant to this model. i am 5'9. had a 5'4x19.5 (like chin height) and then a 5'5x19.75 that felt a world different. the 5'4 being more hi performance and awesome in steeper waves. the 5'5 better on everyday conditions.

been riding fish only that's ruined me for my shortboards. would the super buzz be good for fish like dimensions, like < 5'10 around 21.5" width or more? would it be just as difficult transition im having going to my buzzsaw?
