Do we like channels on shorter fishy boards. They’re all the rage on midlengths. I’m afraid to try a channel board for the first time at full new board prices

Anybody looking for a set of Buzz Trollers? I bought a set for my Mr Buzz but like my other fin’s better. I’ll give you a good deal.
Futures?

Edit: wait I was thinking buzz quads I used for my long lost superbuzz

Thoughts on the No Friends vs Ugly Fish? Anyone ridden both? There is a place not far from where I am that does them under license here in Australia. Always wanted to try a stretch and Looking for small wave/grovel board over summer. They have a few of each in my dims on sale so I'm keen to hear from the stretch experts.

No friends is a good time
Talk me through your experience. What size do you ride? What conditions do you surf it in? and fins setup? I've been down another rabbit hole for five years, so going back to small wave boards etc with multi fins is freaking me out.

Mine was definitely oversized. I'm 190ish and the 5 7" had a lot of foam... a lot. It went great for about as small as you could surf up to head high, then had to much foam once it started getting real pitchy. Not a good ledgey take off board, but honestly handled everything else really well. Super fast and rippy, had some glide so I didnt have to work hard for speed. I do rememeber spinning out a few times though trying to do a big turn at speed, but that was probably the foam/fat rails/bigger day combo. I used stretch quads and never changed, they just worked. I think a no friends twin swallow would be fun as a true small wave fish.

I ended up selling it to feed board addiction, but I'd. Consider getting another. I'd say just don't go too big, and some thinner rails would be better. The no friends 2 3/8" rails felt like 2.8" lol

Did i post this beaut here already?
Had a square1 fore a few years actually. Never really got a memorable session on it. I guess is meant for better quality waves. I surf mostly soft slopey waves where grovel type boards go better.
So i went with more foam on this one and i also plan to use it on bigger waves. We’ll see.

So I grabbed a used No Friends. 5'4, 20 something by 2 7/16. Has the skate deck. Really does go in nothing surf. Have surfed it twice in two days in super clean knee-high waves but no push. I'm really impressed. It caught everything and zips along flat spots, turns super well and paddles like a dream. Love the feel of the skate deck. Using the s-wing twins at the moment, but could see that getting a little dicey in anything bigger. Any recommendations for twin + trailer for this style of board? Definitely a true grovel board and a keeper.

Picked up 6’2 speedbuzz and 7’3 buzzgun

as you can see, they’re both gorgeous. Lots of foam, only in the right places. Very, very light, even the big one. The tails *chefs kiss*

Incoming board porn cascade, prepare your lube of choice

no editing trickory, board glows in the dark…in the light.

IMG_1446.jpeg

Wide, straight outline. No hip, full tail.

IMG_1445.jpeg

flat through the front with just a slight perk in the nose. Skate deck keeps foam up there. It’s a paddler

IMG_1452.jpeg

tail has the rocker. Still not a lot. Soooo much concave through the back half. Deep single into super deep double with a thick spine and v out the back. Rails are even, friendly, hard edge doesn’t go far up.

7’3 buzz”gun”(knife? It’s mine, so hardly gun worthy)

IMG_1453.jpeg

The other board is the wild California sunset sky, this one is that one reflected off the water

IMG_1458.jpeg

cork top, bamboo bottom. Straight as I like them (lol) that rocket rail line

IMG_1454.jpeg

“Aztec pyramid deck” so a trapezoid shape, nose gets thicker right away out to the line created by the deck channel. Rail drops, deck rises.

IMG_1455.jpeg

Heel side two plugs (I appreciate the vote of confidence, Stretch, but lol)
See how thick it gets from way back. Where my foot goes is as thick as the center of a board. The rail falls tight, but not hard edged.

IMG_1462.jpeg

Serious boat nose underneath. That’s not camera angle, it’s convex nose. Not even v, full hull. This one doesn’t have concave, it’s boat bottom to flat to v in the back.

IMG_1461.jpeg

it’s a prone paddle board shrunk down to stand on

IMG_1460.jpeg

one of you told me to get these fins, so i did. They feel nice. Small.
