Skate (5’10 19.875 31.5L)
gbuzz (5’8 20 31L)- this is a replacement for my old gbuzz that was full grovel (5’7 21 33L last pic). I rode it way too much and would redline it. Hopefully the slimmer version has same exact feel and slightly more top end - not actual “top end”, Orange County top end

Please give follow up on your Skate with comparison to your Grovel Buzz. I loved my Grovel Buzz in North Carolina beach break, as I love my Super Buzz and Mr. Buzz in the same conditions except a little more punch. Curious about the single concave Skate for the same conditions. Thanks.

Both my Skate’s are single to double (also have a 6’1 round tail sort of step up I only ever touch on vacation once a year). I had two single all the way through Skates years ago. But I was trash back then (living in Sf or NYC, surfing 3 times a month vs OC now 4 times a week). So I think any contrast I think I feel is more my changing skill level than single vs single to double nuances. Sorry not much help.

In general though I keep going back to the Skate because it’s such an easy to ride cheater “short board”- really low entry rocker. It’s not going to do anything your superbuzz or mr buzz cant. But some days, when the waves are good, I want a little more rail line or want to crank some turns without a bunch of nose swing weight. 100% overlap with your boards just different feelzzz.

FedEx- they suck. They accidentally put it on a plane to Washington, then drove it all the way back down. But pretended that was standard and wouldn’t refund.

fwiw they’ll do the skate single to double as a quad or 5 fin. It’s just the single that is thruster only.
