Home Depot employee said he was no longer allowed to confront shoplifters.
Tackling shoplifters was what he liked best about working there.
Hell I’d take a few shifts a month if it meant I got to suplex some shoplifters

my mother was a private undercover store detective at Bloomingdale’s in the late 60s and early 70s. Heroin city. She busted over 8000 crooks in her time there, a record that supposedly still stands. (That part of the story may very well be different by now though- she DID know it still stood back in the 90s because she kept in touch with a few of her colleagues over the years)

she was also stabbed several times by a repeat offender she knew by name from several prior busts. Bubba Brown. A 6 foot plus junkie with Forrest Gump level IQ. She had him trying to leave the store with some stolen bling and he took off running across 60th street. When my mom went after him (a 5’4 Quaker chick in her 20s) as she rounded the corner onto 3rd ave he had a big folding knife (which she still has) and he stabbed her several times in the arm and shoulder. Surgery and hundreds of stitches and she was fine. Still has permanent nerve damage though in that arm- a few of her fingers don’t really work, like, at all

Employees should be allowed to carry bear spray for those smash/grab and idiots who stuff their backpacks with goods and run. Bear spray is a complete and total show stopper.

She definitely should have a few times. But it’s tough when you’re not only an active life long pacifist, but also a child psychologist who worked all day long with damaged kids who got smacked around a bit too much by “enthusiastic” parents

This is the last straw. Home Depot and Lowes don't sell 36 grit sandpaper anymore. WTF? Have our hands gotten too soft?
all your sanding questions are answered with a 4-1/2 inch angle grinder (grinder guard removed of course) with 36grit disks, readily available at the orange box. real men no need eye pro.

tip: seek out a grinder with a paddle switch for easy pulsing of that awesome 10k RPM, in those 'delicate' situations.

I use flat blocks. 10k rpm with 36 grit will do a number on 1.5lb EPS.

I bought some 40 grit rhino paper from one of the surf suppliers (Oceanside, maybe). Lasts forever if block sanding foam w/ it.

Those aren't sheets. One's a half a sheet. That's like havin g half a dick. And the other's a sponge. And in any case they don't sell them in the store. Why should I pay for shipping a sheet of sandpaper?
