Was looking through an older Surfers Journal and I saw this sequence of Slater at an Outer Island reef. The caption is as follows.<P>"This is just a dumping, vicious, dry right reef. We looked at this place on a lark, and I wouldn't have called it surfable. Slater went out alone. He'd seen something in it he liked. He dropped in and just burned the wave. Just used it.
