Talk to me
Surf has been a big 0 lately
Work (sitting at a desk) is my new life
So I figured I'll walk the hills around the house...get the blood moving again
But my freaking shins are killing me.

A ”Good” shin stretch follows (if I can properly describe ion writing). Get on carpeted floor (or grassy area) with both knees/legs below the buttocks. The feet should be placed with the tops of the feet on the ground/floor. Keeping legs/feet stationary gently lean back and hold the position when you feet the muscles behind your shins begin to stretch (Don’t ‘rock’ or bounce, stop the lean when the muscles begging to stretch). Stop the lean after 1015 seconds, then repeat about 10 or 15 reps. G’luck. Shin splints can be a real bitch…

First time exercises and over doing it can cause horrific shin splints. I got them in high school tennis one year after a winter lay off. Excruciating. Ice/heat, ben-gay, lots of massage and lotions and a couple weeks of gentle return to activities should cure the discomfort.
