Its a fin angle gauge I give to all my glassers , easy to use and works great .What is the tool on the left? looks custom
AB used to come every winter in the 80's , he hung out in our neighborhood .Proper gutters!
The AB fins that Shapers still make for Byrning Spears (and are supplied with every deep six you order from them, you'll be happy to hear) are tiny. Did you ever meet Dale Wilson, who now shapes at Byrning Spears? Good episode of the Surfsplendor Podcast with him.AB used to come every winter in the 80's , he hung out in our neighborhood .
Great friend .
I resize my fins - smaller to put the board back into the constant drift needed for boards to work .
You know you are drifting all the time I hope
That drift runs more water thru these channels that are toed in constantly accelerating the board like the fins .
Works great in all surf .
So, do the glassers ‘eyeball the angle’ when setting their fins? Or does the tool sit up against the fun to be installed? Its a fin angle gauge I give to all my glassers , easy to use and works great .
For most yesDo you generally always do the same cant angle?
