Ends with some great rides but many serious beatdowns on the way - enjoy!

I surfed Deadman's on no swell. I just sucks off a rock shelf. Oddly it might be safer to surf it on a big swell...but this looks like No Fun.

I learned that term from this here erBB years ago.

It still puts a smile on my face seeing someone Barney, go through the wash cycle, splat. I'll stop and take in the action, make sure they pop up out of the water. Only "Live" though. The kookslam videos never appealed to me...it's gotta be in the moment because there are so many other sensory things going on.

One session on New Years Day, it was big and bombing. I was scratching to get in, I heard Joe Roper from afar say..."Get that Bonzer in there." Late drop but my outside rail had some water on it at that precise moment it shouldn't have. The wave got steep, couldn't make the knife with the inside rail, time slowed down. Airborn now. Left shoulder leading the way down. I could "Feel" others lock on the situation. When I was underwater I could hear their gasps. My brain is a little slow processing sound entering the ear and forming cognition.

I popped up with a smile.

Asphalt hurts.
