What's been your experience with these? I've been thinking of something in the neighborhood of 6'0" 20.5 25 quad for everyday slopey surf in the waist to head high range.

What were some of the pros and cons?

I never connected with round tails on shortboards. Too loose, skatey, and lacked drive that I found with a more pulled in tail.

But those look a little more filled out, and I didn't ride them as quads. So basically, I'm talking about something completely different :socrazy:

Rusty Happy Shovel was the only one I ever liked. Technically, a diamond tail.

went fine in everything I put it through. I guess it got boring and that’s why I sold it.

After riding a twin my height started liking more rail and just ordered 5150 snub nose 5'6" but plan on riding as twin:waving: Also forgot to mention gbuzz has diamond tail, super buzz thumb, and buzzsaw pin but still think tail is personal preference and does not screw with board design.

in my experience pivots and overall behaves more like a thruster while still benefiting from having 4 fins. best of both worlds. I prefer that placement on better wave boards and it seems I would as well on a stub round tail

I had a 5'10" quad from Manny - it was awesome. Worked well from waist-head+ surf. Mine had glass-on marine ply fins too, but one of them hummed like a motherf*cker. If I order another one, I will get futures.
Aside from the humming, whats the marin ply situation VS say vs fiberglass?
