Trying to get my head around how fluted vs. non fluted would honestly differ
I may be wrong but I think there are basically 3 wings:
Standard wings to pull in template so tail sinks, etc.
Wing with flute, MR style, adds bite when on rail. Like a rail channel and you can feel it.
E-wing a full step cut out on bottom allowing to tip over on rail more.

-I am sure there are more benefits that I didn't include

I have never had an E-wing but want to try. Stu Kenson features some nice examples on instagram, usually combined with twinzers.

Thanks guys for chiming in. I put in an order for a XTR Townsend today with a round tail. Some back and forth with Matt@ Album & Shey@ XTR lately and landed on 6'3" x 19.75 x 2.5. Should be a fun addition. Looking forward to getting my hands on it. :jamon:
