free market

employment is at-will in essentially every state

this is not a controversial notion
The precedent this creates is far too easy to abuse

The fact that we live in a climate where corporatism is so strong it borders on fascism makes it too risky. If we had an actual free market where government and business were not so closely in bed with each other you’d have a point

Anyone that doesn't want theirs, I'll take it.

I have a mask I can wear.

It's a solid purchase by the way. Instant respect in the water. Ride down the line shaking your fist and yelling "GET OFF MY WAVE!" Flawless victory.

So...government should be manufacturing the vaccine? What does corporatism have to do with vaccination and how would less ties to government benefit us in this situation?

Meanwhile........

For full herd immunity. 50% will still cut transmission and case load significantly. If dumb people want to get Covid I’m ok with it.
the longer the virus is allowed to replicate, the more likely that new mutations will accumulate in the viral population.

getting this thing under control as swiftly as possible should be priority #1

My friend at the hospital said the first shot was quite painful for a couple of days at the site and that a lot of his colleagues had the feverish symptoms after the second shot. A couple felt sick for up to three days.
your point?

So you're afraid of socialism but believe the current system is fascism.

I hope Arizona isn't your last stop. Rural Montana seems more your style. I hear the folks on those surviving in Alaska shows have it nice.

Ah, I don't disagree, but even 50% will take the stress off the system.
yeah, I agree with that too but we can do much better.

NY vaccinated the entire city (6 million people) in one month back in 1947.

By comparison my state has vaccinated 430,000-ish in a month.

CA public schools require vaccinations and we all seem to get along just fine.

But somehow this shot will lead to communism.

Mandatory shots are nothing new, like many other rules that allow us to maintain a functional society.

But the slippery slope/microchip/anti-science/anti-vaxxers/anti-gubmint retards want the freedom to harm other people.

I have a home health-care provider that staffs my father's caregivers. I inquired re their policy on health care workers and vaccines. They told me the workers have a choice to opt out of the vaccine. When they opt out, they basically get put on reserve. Un vaccinated employees are desperation staffing. Bottom of the barrel. Last in line. They don't tell them that, but that's what they're doing in practice. My sister in law owns a similar business that provides home health care workers in the Carmel area. She is doing the same thing. The non vaccinated people are still technically employees, they just don't give them any work unless they have no other options.
