I've got a 6'4" Shelter bonzer that rarely sees action but works when I need it. Also reminds me of how wide todays boards are.I always like bonzers in good waves
I small one could handle pumping surf
Which was good for traveling
Owl Chapman(Kalani's uncle?), Steve Morgan, Jim Yarborough, someone at Hawaii Surf Factory, and I am sure others.didnt Kalani Chapman start shaping a couple years ago under the Brewer label ?
i see his kid in the water from time to time. always on one of his boards. nice clean shapesSteve Morgan shapes for HIC too. He does longboars, mids, fishes, eggs. Not so much hpsb. Real hand shapes, with a planer and all.
You mean like these?’need 2 more good wave borts for barrels and really really good waves
wish I could get a Byrning spears
Dale Wilson knows how to make those boards. No plug issues.Would love one of those, but I'd have to get glass-ons which would't be great for traveling, and I doubt the bort would get wet locally any more than my Ghost, which isn't often. I had the toe side OG FCS plug pop through the deck on at least eight borts back in the day. Never getting a bort with them again.
back in the 1990s peter mccabe used to run that spray on his indo-focussed boards.
Underrated as a surfer too, I reckon. Arguably better than Lopez at G-Land.back in the 1990s peter mccabe used to run that spray on his indo-focussed boards.
not sure if that was an influence for Dale.
there were plenty in the water when it got to a good size in newcastle around the 1990s.
Peter was/is very underrated globally as a shaper but served his local area exceptionally.
saw his van the other day around home - very cool, and wish him all the best in what i assume is semi-retirement.
