I'm ordering a custom Rad Ripper on the website and I would love to get some thoughts/feedback on the glassing schedule options. I've decided to go poly (for the offshore winter days) and I was thinking of going with what the website refers to as "tougher" glassing which is 6 oz on deck and double 4oz on the bottom. But I'm not sure if I need 6 oz. there is also a separate option for 4 oz s glassing. Not sure whether that is in addition to the 6 and double 4 or not. Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm surfing NJ beach break and looking to go fast. I'm not going to be going vertical or punting airs. I'm in my 40s and about 190-195. Thank you for any thoughts or suggestions!!!

All I can say is don't do it. I won't get into the deets. Find a local shaper. 4 oz E on bottom, 4 oz E + 4 oz S on top. Poly.

If you are talking about the Catalyst website it actually means a 6/4 deck and a 4oz bottom.
It does look a little confusing the way it reads.

For real tho, why not call and ask catalyst directly what they recommend and how it input using their board builder?

how strong of offshores. if consistency strong I'd stay with the heavy glass. I could see wanting to go straight 4/4/4 for weigh but the offshores and the fact that you're not going to be super progressive on it says to me you should stick with the stoke glass schedule

On my last two customs I didn't specify a glassing schedule and it looks like they did a single layer of S glass on top for what its worth. These were a driver and sub-driver. It came out pretty light and relatively strong but on my next boards I will probably request two layers of 4e.

When it blows offshore here usually it howls. I usually go 4 on bottom and double 4 with a 4 oz patch on my boards.
