A Ghost has popped up in my local classifieds, 6'5 x 19.5 x 2.75 = 34.6lts. It's not the size I was after, but I'm scratching my head thinking about it now anyway.

I was after a stock sized 6.2 Ghost for a board for good waves (my daily driver's a 5.10 31ish L) and a 6.6 step up(another shaper's board) ... but do you guys with a Ghost reckon I should take a punt on the 6.5 as my step up instead? ps: 6.5 just sounds weird to me, something about the size bothers me... odd number increments over 6 foot just doesn't look right :p

Looks in great condition too

The ghost makes a great step up. If price is good & dims look good for you, i'd say give it a try. Easy to unload probably if it doesn't work out. That one looks closer to pro dims. I have a 6'3" stock one I use as a step up (i'm 5'9") and it never lets me down.

I got a 6’1x19.5x2.63. According to advice given. My usual is 2.38-2.44 and I go 2.50 on grovellers. I guess i went way to big with this board. The good thing is I’m way overfoamed now.
Thickness seems hard to dial in on this board. My regular thickness is 2.56 to 2.68. Got my Ghost at 2.81, but wish I had 2.75 as it's a little to boaty and thick in the front half.

I'm 5'10/160 and bought a stock 6'0 Ghost for NY and it works really well. Rode it alot during hurricane season and didn't regret the length at all. Seems perfect. My usual thickness is 2.38 and this on is a little over 2.5 but so well hidden that I don't notice it. Pyzel has it dialed.

Pyzel's order tracker shows my Ghost sent to glassing, so I'm hoping to grab it week after next. I tweaked two dimensions a hair from a stock 6'0 and getting a 6'0 x 19 1/4" x 2 1/2".

I'm 6'0 166 ish. Would have loved to have had it at least a few times the past few weeks.

You will be surprised. I'm heavier than you (172 lbs, 5'11) and also ride the 6'0 as a step up and its perfect for up to double O/H (6-8 foot) surf.

I have a mate who tweaked his dimensions to the exact same as yours. He's about the same weight as you and he loves it.

I ordered one 5'10 xl and I'm 160/ 5'7. You think yours is short or under foamed?

Guess I am just used to thinking longer for stetups.
It does ride a little longer than the length would suggest I would say. Step ups seems to mean different things for different people here. Lots of variables also depending on where your surfing, how far the break is, the takeoff.....etc.

I don't call a ghost a step up unless i'm stepping up in size. Otherwise its just a hpsb to me that does great in better surf. I size my step ups 6" over my height which has been a sweet spot for me over the years. I'm sure its different for a lot of guys.

I tried the stock 6'0 slayer and that thing was a boat. I sold it quick. I am hoping I didn't under gun myself on bigger east coast days
I thought the same with my 6'0 Slayer. It was way too floaty.

The short fatter ghost I envision as a barrel hound and hpsb on shorter period (13 second) but faster head high+ days.

Finally got a chance to give the Ghost a good try, bit of an adjustment from the retro fish and singlefin I have been riding. Found it to be a steady all around good wave shortboard. Board 6'0", 5'9" 165, surf head high offshore.
