When I was in the military the PT test was 2 minutes of push ups, two minutes of sit ups and a 2 mile run. I think is was something like 70 pushups and 80 setups in 2 minutes to max it. You had to max the PT test to stay in my unit so to this day I can still do 80-100 push ups in two minutes.
my last pt test of AIT i got 80 push ups, 80 sit ups and 11:30 2 mile run
this was february 1991
could not hit those numbers today haha

If you have a balance board or yoga ball you can vary your push ups with it. It will help with your core and simulate the the way a surfboard, especially a small one, wobbles sometimes when you push yourself up.
