I have a similar board design. I don't recommend trying to learn on one. I started on a beginner board and then bought a performance board. The performance board is 4'7 x 19 x 4.2 and 46L. The board is super short and flat. The foil starts to lift MUCH quicker than a starter board and it was quite an adjustment. Think of going from a 9'6 longboard to surfing a Pyzel Ghost. Hard transition for a beginner to make (but not impossible).

proper boards are absolutely badass...i got three of um...bulletproof...and even if you do ding a hole in it...then repairting it is still optional...thos board has had an open ding to the foam and ive been using it for a year un patched...has gained No weight and soaked up No water...12+ airplane trips to hawaii...still light as a feather....
