A guy I know was surfing a huge day at Morro Bay harbormouth (real dangerous, the current will suck you out into the death zone if you don't know what you're doing) and some boat got swamped trying to get through the closeouts. Full scene, surfers rescuing people, HP and CG on their way.

It's amazing that a beginner would try to paddle out at pipe, and that a LG would get crap for sounding them. It's sorta like a 50 year old fat dude who thinks he can run back a kickoff in an NFL game.
