I ride a channel islands tuflite flyer and rip it squidly style. My only problem is I can't stand the paint jobs on all surftechs. Any advice on repainting the entire board. Should I use special paint or anything else? Any one else attempted this? Thanks.

step one= take paint off using paint thinner

step two= light paint thinner on fire

step three= buy a board made by craftsmen in the USA, not some thai kid who's never even seen an ocean, let alone surfed.

You are an idiot. People like you want to stop the progression of surfing when the industry has been long over due for something new. And your point about the boards being made by a kid that has never seen the ocean, what the hell does that have to do with anything? First of all, can you honestly tell me everything you've ever bought in your life was made in the USA. Second, people in those countries are much better off because we provide jobs for them. They may make less than we do here, but what is the alternative, no job?

Have you ever even ridden a surftech? They are all that they claim to be. Lighter, stronger, more bouyant, more responsive. I rode regular boards my whole life and than I decided to try a tuflite. After that I wondered why the surf industry had been so stagnant for so long as far as technology goes. It is by far one of the best boards I have ever ridden. I've had the board for about 6 months and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it except for a small hole where I hit it with my watch. It weighs the same as when I first bought it and it rides the same. No one that consistently surfs can say that about a polyurethane board. Kook.

I've had plenty of poly boards that I could say the same thing about.

Then again, I don't really "rip it squidly style". So...

maybe he surfboard industry was so stagnant because of faggots like you who listen to a hyped up product that is no better than anyother and in many ways inferior. epoxy is cool and i plan on trying it this summer, but surftech isnt progressing the sport at all. greg loehr and jeff wells and all the other poxy guys are making a contribution, but randy gaylord french is dfoing nothing for the surf industry by mass producing a product and overhyping it.

Well, keep in mind that there is probobly a gloss coat on it, so the surface would have to be sanded / roughed up first. Then you would be able to paint it and actually have the paint adhere to the surface of the board. Be sure to coat the paint job with some sort of coating so that it doesn't bleed off onto you as well. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Thanks from everyone who tried to help answer my questions, even if you don't like surftechs. To everyone else thats just here to talk *****, go find something better to do like learn how to stand up. Anyway, keep the real advice coming.

And to JR, mineral spirits will take the marker right off without damaging the board.

Thanks.

Would it be better to use a high quality automotive paint with a spray gun or just regular spray paint?
