“This wave came in the last day of the swell, at sunset on Easter Sunday,” said photog James Ferrell. “I’d been so tired from swimming the past three days prior and was about to get out of the water. A solid set was rolling in on the jetty, and I saw Aaron Clark paddling in from the sider. As the wave peaked up and hit the sandbar, I knew it would be something special. Aaron pulled in and grabbed rail as one of the most beautiful waves I’ve ever seen screamed down the sandbar. We both popped up screaming and stoked and that wave pretty much closed out the swell for us.” Photo: James Ferrell
