I saw someone wearing one of them in San Diego, thought it was a COVID wacko, didn't know this was a real thing til today
I guess it depends on the day.
I'm not sure i'd want this on a big messy day, but chest and clean on a super cold day, hell yeah, i'd be out there and happy about it.

Thought about it for cold offshores but concluded surf goggles would be superior.

I’d never use one but have seen guys out in blizzard surf or heavy nor’easter use them. definitely would require a well timed paddle out.
my old co-worker covered Head to Toe. He spends 6+ hours Kiting, Winging and surfing in Indo with NO food or water during that time.
The guys in Indo etc are shocked he doesnt die in full suit etc. with no nutrients during his 6+ hour sessions.

Combine this with goggles and boom, you've got yourself a cold water surf solution AND a Halloween costume
A couple of guys at my home break wear something similar under their hoods on the coldest days of the year. to cover more of their faces. When the wind chill is at or below zero you need anything you can get to keep warm.
