And Yago and Joao live in the Volcom house 3 months out of the year.

Pipe Specialist means you surf Pipe a lot. So all four finalists are Pipe specialist.

I guess I should've clarified. Maybe local wildcards would've been a better statement. I'm more referring to the old system people seem to still crave with 16 Non-CT surfers from Hawaii.

No Jamie O, Koa Rothman, Makua Rothman, Eli Olsen, Nathan Florence, Koa Smith in the quarters or better. They're all amazing at pipe, but they're not competition machines.

The earlier rounds where most of those guys and Mason Ho got eliminated were held in inconsistant conditions. There were great waves but only a few each heat. This brought in a pretty big luck factor depending on how Priority worked out at the beginning of the heat. A lot of guys advanced with a score in the 2 to 3 range in their top two.

Everybody’s an expert on the NS lineups. Haha. Contests are fun to watch and argue about but they are draining. More traffic to an already bad situation. The novelty of surfing with visiting pros wore out a long time ago. Plus the NS contest season is 3 months long. I texted Jeannie when she presents the Todd Chesser Hard Charger Award tell all the visiting surfers thanks for coming now go home. She replied with the Shaka emoji.

That system has been dead for at least 3 years and this isn't even the contest that used it, but you still want to debate it?

Now that everybody is finally gone, my winter officially starts. So tired of seeing an entire surf team paddle out or a bunch of Brazilian QS trust fund warriors trying to hassle for every ripple or faux vintage RVCA guys on 40 liter boards...
