MEdina may do well in Sunset every now and then but it's one of the worst waves for his type of surfing.

I don't think he's the most exciting surfer, but him lacking a sponsor is more a reflection of the industry. Late 20's dude that's probably about tapped out on how high he can climb in the rankings. Just not a lot of room for a company to profit. Good for him for sticking at it.
I think his parents are Brazzo transplants to Maui. That’s why he rocks HI and Brazil flags on his shoulders. Probably not stressing about money. Just a guess.
