In fact, when he finally did, when it happened to be clear that the insurrection would fail, he empathized with them.

That was the last straw for Sarah Matthews, a former deputy press secretary who testified Thursday.

"He didn't distinguish between those who peacefully attended his speech and those we watched cause violence," Matthews said, adding, "As a spokesperson, I knew I would be asked to defend that. His refusal to act and call off the mob that day, his refusal to condemn the violence was indefensible

LMAO Pico still thinks it was an insurrection
"Nearly one year ago, a violent mob broke into the United States Capitol in an effort to halt the certification of the electoral vote and overturn the 2020 election in favor of Donald Trump. The insurrection was, thankfully, unsuccessful. But its echoes continue to reverberate today: Many in the Republican Party attempt to deny, minimize, or normalize the legacy of the attempted coup, while investigators in both the Justice Department and Congress continue to dig into exactly what happened that day."

The University of Pennsylvania's Global Go To Think Tank Index Reporthas named Brookings "Think Tank of the Year" and "Top Think Tank in the World" every year since 2008.[16] The Economist describes Brookings as "perhaps America’s most prestigious think-tank."[17]
Brookings states that its staff "represent diverse points of view" and describes itself as nonpartisan,[18] and various media outlets have alternately described Brookings as centrist,[19] center-left,[20] liberal,[21]or right-wing.[22] An academic analysis of congressional records from 1993 to 2002 found that Brookings was cited by conservative politicians almost as often as by liberal politicians, earning a score of 53 on a 1–100 scale, 100 representing the most liberal score.[23] The same study found Brookings to be the most frequently cited think tank by U.S. media and politicians.[23]

In the early evening of Jan. 6, after former President Donald Trump finally and reluctantly put out a video telling rioters to go home, after hours of staffers urging him to do so, he had only one thing to say.

"Mike Pence let me down," Trump told a staffer of his vice president.
what was he doing for several hours when he should have been calling off the dogs?

I wonder why he didn't call in the NG
If you believe MAGA it’s because Nancy should have done it even though she had no authority to do it and Trump, as President, was the head of the DC National Guard and had full authority.

What would you call it?
Or pressuring Pence to not certify even though he didn't have the authority to do so
Or trying to submit fake electors
Or pressuring swing state government officials to find votes(it's on tape)
illegally gaining access to voting machines and tampering with them

Is your hate for Liberals so great that there is nothing you wont accept from the Republican party
