You don't need half the money JJF has made thru competeing/sponsorships/films/brand.... there's plenty of dudes on YouTube who have been living on sailboats for decades, and all they did was cash out a normal work retirement package and sold a mortgaged home with some equity established.

In his public persona he never portrayed the Kelly Slater/Michael Jordan/Tony Hawk/Lance Armstrong win-at-any-cost asshole that the WSL seems to be cultivating. In my JJFanboi imagination narrative, I like to think he worked the system and, well, sailed off into the sunset, still the best surfer in the world (maybe ever). And banged Taylor Swift. I'm gheyer for him now than ever.

Also, I think his moms is sexy af.
