Would someone explain to me raked thrusters vs neutral quads? on a board where raked thrusters are recommended that same board is recommended with neutral quads. does it have to do with the rear quad placement being closer to the rails?
In 5 box boards I like to keep the same thruster fronts in that are working for me and swap in either a pivot or neutral rear. Usually flat foil when closer to rail.

is it a board with a decent amount of tail rocker?

raked thrusters and neutral quads is pretty much how I roll. or at least that is like the baseline. i can do neutral thrusters or upright quads if the board feels like it needs more pivot.

the only raked quad sets i've liked have been in short/wide grovel boards.

upright thrusters **** me off. too much pivot and not enough drive.

i think Duffy is basically on it. neutral quads probably will have a little more inherent drive than a raked thruster set in the same board but it will be within the ballpark.
Ya. The board has lots of tail rocker.
Thanks for the answers. I was more curious as to why then not trusting the choice.

Did someone say the Futures MR set isn’t as good as the FCS version? Thought I read that somewhere in here.

Looking at potentially grabbing a Futures set for one of my small wave boars. I love them in my FCS boars.

True Ames.
These?

The other set I see on their site doesn’t have the trailer.

Those too, if you need a trailer. For me I'd buy the TA twins and a separate trailer just to get bigger fins.

Groveler quad setup, anyone? 5'8, fat, and super flat rocker.
I had a 5’7 pretty flat groveler and while I didn’t love the board the fins that the shaper recommended worked really well.

NVS Bronn quad fronts
NVS JL rears

I am loving the christenson 5-fin set, but have only run them as a quad in good waves on a good wave board
