Neat little story from local waters.
How to get a hickey from an Octopus.

VIDEO: A sucker for a friendly face; octopus gloms onto diver for once-in-a-lifetime encounter – Campbell River Mirror

I used to hunt these guys to make spending money back in 1962-63.

Really neat critters.

Take care.
I had a pet octopus in my classroom. I once dropped 5 goldfish in at once, and it reached out and grabbed them all at the same time. The have a distributed "brain" so that each arm can think independently, even if it becomes severed.

From this weekend (Yosemite)
Went to the Valley Sunday for some very good friend's 25 year wedding anniversary and re-vows.
Absolutely gorgeous day.
Low crowds, bluebird skies, warm.
They were married at Superintendent's meadow 25 years ago, the bride's sister was a Forest Service bear tech for 20 years there.
Anyhow, some pics.

This guy was super friendly, could almost reach out and pet him.
