Rufous hummingbird nest with three little eggs in my trumpet vine on the back deck.
i've never seen a middle-aged woman jump so high until one was creeping up a visiting friend's leg while we were outdoors bbq'ing...the one in the photo is the size of both of my hands, but yeah def harmless and kill centipedes (which are endemic here)
Kumiko Hawkes was on the beach on Gabriola Island when he saw a commotion in the water.
With a good telephoto lens he got this shot.
Sealion snacking on an Octopus.
Apparently dove and surfaced with different parts of the Octopus over a short time.
My friend Karen Wasilenchuk lives on a nice property with bush and a creek on it so has wildlife and lots of flowers all around.

Back yard bunny. I shot this and a bunch like it that day with the Canon 300mm F4 which is a super sharp lens. The crazy thing was in the reflection on the rabbit's pupil how detailed my house and yard could be seen in the 20mb versions of some of the shots.
I have friends who farm in Saskatchewan and Karen took these photos of a fast-approaching storm earlier today.

I've not had much luck shooting lightning. These are the best lightning shots I've gotten so far.

Zancudo (not my hand) the official dengue season is underway. Malaguas (small stinging jellyfish) thick in the surf. Moyos (small land crabs) and other assorted creatures becoming active telling us the rainy season is nigh.
Mescal is your friend. You drink coffee early, add a couple of splashes. Good to go like a campesino!
