Super stoker session this morning at my local. Sizeable west combined with some south swell. Took the 7'2 Gibbons twin because it looked like a big playing field. Doc keels feel really well suited to this board. I dunno if I'll go back to uprights in this board again. Few rando guys who looked undergunned and a few locals, pretty spready out. A SUP guy came out to the main peak and we barked at him until he paddle off to his own little corner.

Mostly lefts to start. Kind of a rip bowl with the wind blowing up the face. Was glad for the big board. Got a few really fun racers and some swoops through the inside bowl. Tried to pull into a double up tube and got smashed by the lip and flogged pretty good. On the paddle back out another double up landed right in front of me. I did that thing where I couldn't decide whether to ditch or dive and ended up doing a halfassed duckdive. I got sucked over backwards with my board and I did an end over end flip with like a sideways rotation thrown in. Is that a rodeo flip? Maybe one of you snowboarders would know. Anyways, it was pretty sick.

As the tide filled in the rights started shaping up and I ended my two hour session with a few long ones. Water has continued to warm up. Maybe like 52F or so now.

Wind is ripping now but I think there might be an evening session to be had if my knee allows for it.

Getting kinda desperate here in the N SF bayarea. First surf in almost three weeks. South facing beach with a lagoon channel. negative tide sand spit action. Doubled up dredging take offs in a foot of water to a niceish left running pretty quick down the sand bar in very shallow water. My ankles and knees got barreled on multiple waves and the tricky takeoff kept the hordes of adult learners away.

That sounds fun.
Like a south facing version of one my spots on this side of things.

I decided to bite the bullet yesterday and take my butt down to santa cruz to surf some real waves. the only place Im really familiar with in that area is pleasure point. to my disappointment the main peak was swamped with soft tops and longboarders, so I decided to test my luck at sewers on my mini simmons. pretty much camped the lefts the entire session and caught multiple fun quick rides, not bad for my second time surfing that peak.

Incredibly good 4hour session this am to the north. Overhead roll ins to long rippable left hand walls. Fairly big crowd but 99% were a non factor. Got some of the best waves I’ve had in years. Aside from one bog did some of the best surfing I’ve done since my 20’s. Even landed a decent sized frontside air on the end section after multiple turns. Felt really good, luckily no video to burst my bubble.

Had a feeling it would be fun there! Nice score

I had scars on my feet from stingrays for over ten years.
One in the arch of my foot would itch for what seemed like 2 years.

pretty good today as well. i even got a tube. more dipshits showed up earlier, but didnt f with me too bad. i went and sat too deep, so they followed me and sat deeper, then i went to the proper takeoff spot and got a few more. that plan worked for awhile. more dorks arrived and i went to another peak and got a few more as the wind began to destroy it. left satisfied enough. didnt look like i missed anything elsewhere either.
