Someone else started the 2025 thread, my curse has been lifted.

Saturday the 28th
It was big, clean, and inconsistent, so the crowd got a little stacked, but I was able to snag this gem. Wave was way in the background of the camera so hard to see what's going, but basically I took off, made a questionable cutback that put me on the edge of making the wave, and spent the next 100 yards making high speed turns under the lip barely staying ahead of the whitewater. Exciting ride. Made my day.

Missed the mega swell to family and work obligations.
Finally surfed yesterday afternoon on the North end of The Beach.

Couple very wedgy double ups before the tied drained too far out.

It looked very fun this afternoon but I had my 6 year old in the shorebreak dodging crab fisherman on the boogie board.

Nice! Same here on NYE, I was out from like noon-2pm, paddled out at nearly Kelly’s, found a nice little closeout barrel, tried to fight the current for a while, drifted through a bunch of junk, and then sat around VFWs/just south for a little and found a couple fun rights that lined up and stayed open enough for a few wiggles. Might’ve crossed paths, I only saw like 3-4 other people out.

Nice! I think I got out there around 2:30.
THe crowd grew by the minute, but I stayed up near Lincoln and it was only a handful.

Swell built a bit yesterday @ the local beachy, water nice & clear, CH w/the very random HH set, rights were much better, just roller coastering + the occasional snap…rode a friends Josh Hall fish he left at my house since he’s coming back in late March. Cool crowd, lots of friends, everyone happy. All waiting for swell.

Went yesterday with a surf buddy visiting from Montana, we surfed a nearby rivermouth that likes the wnw swell that was showing up just as it arrived from Hawaii…not epic by far, but speedy HH - HH+ w/light offshores, was riding my SK twinzer mid length + nearby were two hot Swedish girls on longboards who had no idea what they were doing being coached by some American chest beater who couldn’t catch a wave to save his life. But he looked “surf” I guess that’s the important part? Anyway chest beater guy went in & we paddled over to get a closer look. Apparently the guy was an LA music writer and they were musicians so I guess that was the common ground. We coached them into a few waves and they started having fun, afterwards buying them beers at the bar down the beach. LA music writer guy showed up later and was not happy. We left and headed to my casa, I invited some friends over and made tuna tacos.

I was hoping these were euphemisms.
