lunchtime blown-out micro knee-high waves at the local longboard break on the mini glider. Managed to find a couple peaks with just 3 softtop nerds so caught 15 waves in 25 min. At least I got some exercise. Felt lots of little squishy wrigglers underfoot on the sand bottom, saw a couple small rays swim off when I shuffled through, but thankfully no stings.

paddled seven miles..was stoked to see some sun at the very end. got to hang with a crew of real small dolphins...different rbeed than the regulars...small...darkerw/teh distrinct white section....so playful.....the baby one was nuts...the seal or sea lion eating with them was pure fugging out of place comedy...got about 5 waves at the tail end before heading in. ivehad bigger...but this one left was just F()Cking epic and this one right was just sinfully long for riding a damn paddleboard. im still tring to replay it and can't, so unreal.

Sounds like you ran into some common dolphin? :shaka:

I ran into some of the usual nearshore bottle nose dolphins the other day. They had a baby with them that was the size of a loaf of bread. It was so small it couldn't even arch its back to take a breath. It would come up with a bunch of vigor and do this awkward plop at the surface and submerge. Pretty fvcking cute.

fun as fk today. lully so i wore my surf hat lol. chest+ on the sets and good shape. du to crowd opted for the stubb vector and was gliding into every set. even got 2 waves per set. bs roundys, couple floats, couple of nice aggressive end section reos that were shed much tiger than what northern_shores posted. his sheds need more shithawk. parmy wants you to use some power and likes to be pumped for speed. so fun. cordial crowd. and yeah i'm middle aged kook riding 99 liters of vol on a big ass boar just like u fakas like it!

The faux fall of late August was just a fake out and it's been super micro for the past couple weeks. Also super smokey. This morning was the first time I've seen blue sky in like 6 days?

We finally had some local SW wind swell so I surfed twice today. First session was at the creek mouth. It was not amazing but I had fun. Head high or bigger on the sets and really consistent. Almost too consistent if you got caught inside. Few lefts, few rights. Rode the Album Insanity as a trusty for the first time. It felt alright but a little stiff for the power level that was out there. Should have just stuck with twin + trailer. Water has warmed up.

Afternoon session I stayed closer to home and surfed near the South end of the bay. Usually we've been surfing this spot at the high but this swell angle had it looking fun as the tide dropped so we went for it. The swell had dropped a little but there was still some head high waves occasionally. It was a bit better than what we surfed in the morning. Just a little more focused. Rode the lightbender and it felt great as always. The lefts were pretty crappy but occasionally one would double up and run. Got a few really fun rights. Best one I got was a fat double up that let me in the backdoor. Got slotted across the bar in front of my buddy. He said I was barreled but I think it was more of a coverup. I had spray in my eyes so was kind of blinded for a bit. Either way it was fun.

up at redrider's usual, got in the water a little late(8:00) think the tide was filling in. Super glassy 2-3+ sectiony lines definitely some combo influence. Very light crowd and didn't have to expend 75% of my energy staying in position. 2 1/2 hour of inconsistent fun waves on the twinzer model F :shaka:

Double sessions like a grom:jamon:
am sesh was nice, a little lully but fun waves when they came.
Evening was a nice surprise as a little sumthing, sumthing from the S/SW had filled in.
Mega crowds (olympic dudes, really?) fire babes on the beach, (rare for here ) and a few tubes to pack.:)
Epic end of summer day. :jamon:

Dawned the regular. It was small but bigger than yesterday. Took the Moonfish out. I think I got two decent waves that I did a couple of turns on. Last wave was a closeout that I did a floater to air drop. I haven’t done floaters in a while but this summer I’ve been throwing them in every so often. They tend to be hard on lightly glassed boards so I usually try to drive around those sections instead of getting on top.

Misty today. Wish it was a real rain to help with the fires raging inland but we'll take what we can get at this point. Pretty small swell but I'd driven all the way to the creek and I had the PJ so I went for it. Nothing special, mostly just running little lefts. Board helped to make the most of it. Didn't surf for long but got a bunch of waves. My last wave actually stood up pretty nice and I got two fun turns. Knew I probably couldn't do better than that so I bagged it. Not a bad session all things considered. Forecast looking slightly more promising.

Paddled for a late afternoon sesh at PPP. Waves were good! HH lefts and rights. I stayed on the rights, should''ve paddled over for the lefts. This was probably the first time in a long time with afternoon lowtide and no wind, season is changing! Crowd was 40 teens acting like it was a photo shoot, I saw no cameras on the beach. Arggh, I couldn't buy a wave. The sandbar is pushed up tight, not much space between outside and inside. Best wave I caught, I blew it. Caught it early, but didn't really get in, was trying to get down the face as wave was jacking. Wound up hung in the lip. Before getting super tossed, I decided better to just straighten it off. Took the air drop, somehow didn't fall. Here's the bad part, shredder caught inside was shaking his head at my wasting one of the best waves. Total score - frustration session.

There is something to be said about rolling back child labor laws. That salt won't mine itself.

Wish I could have paddled out today (or any time this week); gotta be on call for work. Oh well. Hope everyone is getting some today. Looked like it was good.
