tickets RT from SD or LAX to Norfolk in October are $250-$300.

Cheap 4 day surgical strike. Find your own sandbar.

I'm down for a meet up. South-facers may be the call for the next couple weeks. Think low-tide Mission Beach for comparison

Did not stay in the spaceship, drove past it when I needed to, but I found a nice seedy motel centrally located as is the way I roll. I would stay there again.

Many magical sessions down there. I've been itching to make a surgical strike to chase a swell but so far things haven't lined up. I usually go down two or three times a year but Covid messed that up this year. Haven't been down since last fall.

Noninvasive? I went solo, with my wife who basically read a book the whole time. I think by October post Dorian, Covid Isaesis etc, I surfed a couple of the main spots and nobody seemed to mind us and we ate out, bought stuff, took our trash back to the hotel with us, hell I picked up quite a bit of other people's trash. Is that what you mean?
People were surprising ly friendly.
There was the slightest hint of a peanut gallery but no problems.

I thought about heading down today and shooting home Monday night but the forecast is iffy for the spot I'd be heading to and also a very real threat that Rt12 would be closed either heading down or when I want to leave. There will be some big tides down there this weekend and significant overwash. You might even see a house or three fall in the ocean.
