I mostly try to stay out of the political stuff, but I think you're seriously underestimating your fellow citizens' level of apathy. I heard a radio interview with one of Texas' congressmen, and he was saying that if he got a couple dozen emails or letters on a given subject, that was a big deal and something worth giving some attention to. More than 50, and he was "getting flooded" with letters, and it was an clear sign of public outcry.
The staggeringly overwhelming majority of people never take the time to write. Imagine if we all did. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/socrazy.gif" alt="" />
no doubt! It wasn't always this way though. People used to write, and Presidents would write back! I have a few letters from former Presidents sent to one of my relatives (may he r.i.p.)...Christmas cards even.
