Is it worth risking hundreds of lives and millions of dollars for the lives of two men who VOLUNTEERED to do a job?

No
The same a$$holes that were critical of Obama giving tactical and air support to NATO when Qaddafi got taken down during the Arab spring are now the ones upset that Obama didn't put boots on the ground to save 4 people that enlisted to take a job in a hostile country. Go figure. Obama is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

The timeline of the events is very well documented now. I can understand the confusion surrounding them. One email saying they are under attack while another a bit later stating that the assault had stopped, then another saying they were under attack again. Bottom line though and this is supported by multiple sources was that they were under attack by an organized, well armed militia. Shooting high calibre machine guns and heavy mortars - with great effect. There were other CIA operatives on site who observed the attacks that were ordered to "stand down" and not come to the aid of their fellow Americans. We need to get to the bottom of who gave that order, and why (they ignored it by the way and bought Stevens even more time than he would have had). We had time to get drones in the sky to observe in real time what was happening so we damn well had time to bring some rain down on these assholes... That order was not given and investigations need to be done to find out why.

It is important to back away from the kneejerk political rhetoric but its imperative that we get to the bottom of this- NOW. Why was Stevens there that night, what was he discussing with the Turkish envoy beforehand, why were calls for more security on the ground leading up to this attack denied, why in the face of overwhelming evidence did the administration and surrogates say that it was a spontaneous protest about a video?... so many questions. This president owns this though- that cannot be denied.

The same a$$holes that were critical of Obama....

I was critical of Obama for going to war without authorization from Congress. Using the UN as an excuse does not hold water. Being a constitutional scholar and also being on record for saying this kind of activity shouldn't happen, he should know better.

...are now the ones upset that Obama didn't put boots on the ground to save 4 people that enlisted to take a job in a hostile country.

The president's main task is to provide security to American's overseas. It makes no difference wether they enlisted or not. You're on shaky ground with this logic. Whether or not Obama should have armed jihadist militias to overthrow Kadaffi is another subject and not related to whether or not Obama should have come to the aid of our ambassador and his aides when he knew they were in danger and he knew that something could have been done to stop it. He knew and he had time but again- he hesitated and American's died.

I know its your wish to take this into a right/left mudslinging namecalling type thread but for once try and just be logical here and call it for what it is- a fockup. Will your blind faith even allow that? never. If Obama had dropped HIS blind faith and done something to save these people he just could have saved his presidency. As it stands now this is just another nail in the coffin.

if you've read any of the reports about what actually happened
you'd know that these two gentlemen were killed by mortar fire
at the safehouse while being evacuated by a rescue team that was
sent in to help get them and about 2 dozen other people out of
harms way.

on its face, this thing is just plain wrong.

nevermind the fact that it just smacks of partisan, monday
morning qb politicization of a situation that was just bad
all around.

So according to this "meme" the siege went on for 7hrs which you claim to be well-documented despite sharing sources. So are you willing to say that Obama should have gotten congressional permission and put boots on the ground and launched a rescue mission within 7hrs when the specifics were cloudy at best? In your own words: I can understand the confusion surrounding them. One email saying they are under attack while another a bit later stating that the assault had stopped, then another saying they were under attack again.. Yet Obama is at fault for not getting congressional permission and taking us to war?

Now lets say he did that and acted swiftly with the cloudy and minimal intelligence available and we ended up with a situation similar to the Blackhawk Down Mogadishu fiasco, are you going to tell me that you'd be standing up to defend Obama for making the right decision? I'm gonna go ahead and answer that for you, there's not a ***** chance. You know it and I know it that the guy is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't in the eyes of you and your ilk

Yes or no, do you take this sourceless internet meme at face value for what actually happened?

No.

You should read up on what one of the victims mother's thinks about the politicization of her sons death...

Why would I want to do that? I'm sure if I can't find anything better to do my wife will find something better to do for me.

What exactly do you think this sourceless internet meme is doing?

I couldn't possibly care less.

Why do you hate the mothers of dead heros so much?

I don't see any difference between the mothers (or fathers) of dead heros and any other person that dies in the service of their country. Hero status (or celebirty status as you mentioned in another thread) or a common snuff doesn't make the same difference to me as it seems to make for you. They're all green when the sh¡t flies.

What a stupid thing to say. Shame on you.
Now a question for you: Were you the kid in school that got wedgies even from the retarded kids?
Hey skully - are my answers to your questions acceptable or did you forget you asked them and move on to trying to bait someone else into an arguement?

Did you see what Biden did? This is the guy a heartbeat away from potus.

'Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?' Biden's bizarre question angers father of Navy SEAL who died in Benghazi attack

The father of one of the Navy SEALs who was killed in the Libya consulate attack has criticised the White House reaction to his son's death - especially a bizarre and obscene comment Joe Biden made to him.

Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, said he thought Barack Obama had 'no remorse' over the attack and felt Hillary Clinton was 'not telling the truth'.

And he revealed that at the ceremony for the return of Tyrone's body, the Vice President approached his family and asked, 'Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?'

Mr Woods added that the President seemed cold and distant at the time, saying: 'Shaking hands with him, quite frankly, was like shaking hands with a dead fish.'

Father would have been fully justified if he had knocked Biden's teeth out right then and there.

Nobody answered the question I posed last night. You're all highly critical that Obama didn't immediately put troops on the ground to save these four Americans despite the murky details of what was actually happening. Had he made the snap judgement and gave the order and things went sour and spiraled into a Battle of Mogadishu/Blackhawk Down type situation would you guys stand behind the president and tell us that he made the right decision despite the outcome? Squidley? Surfdog? 23rdstMB? Anyone?

My bet is you'd be frothing at the mouth with an even bigger scandal to use against the president in an election year.

2. I love how you guys are suddenly looking to the CIA as a forthcoming source of public information. CIA Director Petreaus is an honorable man who I respect, but as Director of the CIA don't you think he has secrets to protect? Historically how forthcoming has the CIA been with public? Isn't the vast majority of their work done in secret? Suddenly you take everything they say as gospel when it's convenient to your political stance?

We do know however that the attack was on a CIA installation thanks to Darrell Issa and fellow republican Congressman Chaffetz who outed classified info about it live on CSPAN during their witch hunt. Which makes you wonder, what are the odds that Petraeus and the CIA who we know for a fact were operating at the site of the attack had something to hide?

IMO, the decision to send in troops or not is not the real issue here. Lots of Monday morning QB decisions could've been made. Lots of Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda's here.

It's the now known FACT that Americans died, Obama and Admin lied, MSM Press complied, and now Dems are hogtied.

You do realize one of the two buildings where these former navy SEALS died was a CIA base? Did it ever cross your mind that these "lies" were for a reason so as not to disclose classified information?

the committee members left little doubt that one of the two compounds at which the Americans were killed, described by the administration as a “consulate” and a nearby “annex,” was a CIA base. They did this, helpfully, in a televised public hearing.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) was the first to unmask the spooks. “Point of order! Point of order!” he called out as a State Department security official, seated in front of an aerial photo of the U.S. facilities in Benghazi, described the chaotic night of the attack. “We’re getting into classified issues that deal with sources and methods that would be totally inappropriate in an open forum such as this.”

A State Department official assured him that the material was “entirely unclassified” and that the photo was from a commercial satellite. “I totally object to the use of that photo,” Chaffetz continued. He went on to say that “I was told specifically while I was in Libya I could not and should not ever talk about what you’re showing here today.”

Oh and Pat Tillman says hi!

Where was your outrage when his death was lied about by our govt? I didn't hear you calling for Bush's head.

If this wasn't an election year this would not be an issue for you. You know it and I know it.

This is all partisan politics. All of it. Everything, and I do mean everything Obama has tried, completed, discussed, or mentioned will always be wrong in the eyes of the right wing nutters. It's typical damned if you do, and damned if you don't methodology.
