Kauai's north shore ~
Hi Peter!

I know you well know the backyard of Doc's house that was once home to Dru Harrison and David Nuuhiwa.

Chris Barela, Mike Benevidez, Mike Purpus, the turkeys and Terry Stevens RIP. It sure looks like Bobby Burchell on the left but I don't remember him being there and that Infinity board must not be his. He was riding Chris Hawk Surfboards before Hurley.
Dru's Mom used to cook breakfast for us. Heavy male presents in the Harrison Family. Mom was a keeper. Fun times too. Mahalo for the shout-out.

Shirley Rogers is a born and bred Ewa Beach Road surfer girl
She's part of the original Ewa Beach Road surf crew well before the black shorts came to be
One of them a dear friend of hers just passed away

Here's the crew she grew up with

Room with a view-,my favorite surf shop back in the day. The first surfboards I made were copies of the "Pro Series" double winger pins-

noticed this was in the "links to popular threads" so I thought I'd post a couple more-

Mason's dad was one of my favorite surfers back in the day-

Back in the day, cheater fives were kind of radical. I still do them while short boarding. Kids would never think to-

Youtube algo suggested this. I said, ok algo, thanks.

That was a blast from the past. I was 17 at that time and was surfing country all the time. Lived in Hawaii Kai. Miss those days and relative lack of crowds. I also went through many insane Lightning Bolt surfboards that I wish I kept and did not trash.

This looks like the first board I ever rode. It was a friend's. My own first board was a little more user friendly.
