As for the posts above about Varial. I’m surprised pressure dents are even a consideration. As long as the board does’nt delam, yellow, or lose its spring I could care less about pressure dings.
Pressure dings are ripper dings says 16 y.o. me.

I've concerned myself over the first few days of a board relationship with the wrong lam or shade of blue but in the end, I remind myself the beauty pageant is on the wave, not on the beach. I usually lose on both, :( And I'll ride a board that has yellowed like a banana to its demise if it goes good. Next epoxy will get some shade of color painted all over it though.

the obsession with pressures on the deck have to be an American thing, just like the dakine pads on our suv cross bars to protect a 5lb surfboard.

Pretty bummed...Just noticed this today! Received a Album Townsend XTR 10 in Dec 2022. Surfed it I think 4 times? Have the same model in poly that I love. Did not click with the XTR version for whatever reason? Tried selling it. No bites. Was gonna give it another go on this next swell. Noticed delaminating and bubbling in the tail area when fining it up. Also a good one around FS fin box. Just been sitting for 5 months in my garage with other boards. Doesn't get excessively hot even being in the tropics. My office is in the same room. Had one other XTR 5.0 it delamed eventually but took years. Like I said pretty bummed. Trying to save $ going with XTR and listened to the hype.

If you are indeed the original owner, reach out to XTR directly. Javier is a good guy and will do what he can for you to make things right. Try it and report back.

For whatever reason, he sells the blanks and licenses the vent tech to Arakawa. EA is the only shaper I've seen offering their boards. He had his own construction he was doing with it a few years ago "XO" but I haven't seen them pushing it lately. It was pretty expensive and probably not super popular.

I'm with you though. I'd love to find a shaper I could actually work with that offered XTR as an option. I tried that with EA and the machine they needed to use to cut the XTR blanks was out of comission lol :foreheadslap:. I'm pretty torn between yoloing the latest big brand rip stick in XTR carbon and working with a shaper I can talk to.

I think FCD also uses XPS foam but I don't think it's from Javis shop? Not sure on that.
I remember Arakawa had boards built by Solomon in the bue XPS foam back in the day. Maybe he's been an extruded guy since the get go?
