Most of America supports voter IDs. The problem is that they're expensive, even if "free." Poor folks, white and black, can't afford a day off to get one. If Republicans could figure that out, I don't see how Dems could continue to argue against.

Yeah, I agree here, but you need to figure out how to do it so people who can't afford to miss a day of work can get one without missing a day of work. There must be a technology that can handle this by now.
Voting day should be a national holiday, end of story.

If you look at the voting demographics and trends...poor people are not who the GOP wants to stay home....it's the suburban wine moms who are killing them, followed by the corporate and wall street class. They've completely cratered with the wine moms and Wall Street and the corporate vote is around 50/50 where the GOP historically has a huge lead there.
The next big GOP voting block is going to be the mainland Hispanics.
