I have been surfing for 1 year and currently ride a 7'10" funboard, but I'm ready to get a shortboard. I'm leaning towards something like a 6'10" x 19 2/3" x 2 5/8". Any suggestions on nose/tail widths, changes you would make to my current dimension, or anything else would be greatly appreciated. I know I could go into a shop and talk about all of this, but I want to get a little bit better of an idea of what I want before I go.

You should try riding a few (even one) close to those dimension first. It will be much harder to paddle into a wave and you'll need to get used to later takeoffs on steeper faces. That's about where I'm at - it's a little rougher than on a bigger board, but it's a lot more fun. It's nice duck diving on a smaller board too, but it's slower to paddle out to the line up. Just some things to consider.
